On December 7, 2025, the Organization of Sierra Leoneans in Sweden (ORSLIS) formally recognized the efforts and contributions made toward addressing widow homelessness in Sierra Leone and globally.
The recognition highlights a commitment to identifying critical social needs affecting widows—particularly homelessness, vulnerability, and lack of protection—and taking meaningful action to respond to those challenges. The initiative reflects a proactive approach rooted in compassion, responsibility, and community-driven impact.
By acknowledging this work, ORSLIS reinforces the importance of advocacy, grassroots action, and sustained support for widows who often face social exclusion and insecurity after the loss of a spouse. The recognition also serves as encouragement for continued collaboration and collective responsibility in addressing widow-related challenges worldwide.
Widows Care extends its gratitude to ORSLIS for this recognition and remains committed to building safety, dignity, and long-term solutions for widows in Sierra Leone.
